Luna has signed a marketing agreement with Terumo Cardiovascular Systems, the world's leading supplier of products for cardiopulmonary bypass.
Luna Innovations is focused on applying emerging technologies to develop products to overcome challenges faced by the healthcare community. Areas of R&D include:
- Fiber optic sensors to provide motion and control over surgical tools, as well as real-time shape or position tracking
- Medical devices utilizing advanced quantitative ultrasonic technology and and minimally-invasive biosensors
- Small molecule pharmaceuticals to mediate a range of novel therapeutic targets
- Biomaterials including antimicrobial bone graft substitutes, hemostatic agents, drug-delivery systems and tissue adhesives
Luna’s nanoWorks Division is working with imaging experts to develop enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contrast agents to reduce toxicity while having increased sensitivity of diagnostic imaging for earlier disease detection.
