Luna Innovations Participates in NanoBusiness Alliance Policy Tour
(ROANOKE, VA, Feb. 21, 2008) – Luna Innovations Incorporated will participate in the NanoBusiness Alliance Policy Tour on Feb. 26-28, 2008, in Washington, D.C. The annual policy tour is designed to raise awareness of issues facing the nanotechnology industry among lawmakers and build support for legislative interests. Nanotechnology executives in attendance will have the opportunity to take part in meetings with Congressional and Senate committees, address the Nanotech Caucus and meet with individual House and Senate members. Topics to be discussed will include patent reform, tax incentives for investment in nanotechnology, the health of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and the re-authorization of the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act.
Luna Innovations will be speaking during the Nanotechnology Caucus briefing titled "Nanotechnology and Commercialization, Job Creation, and Consumer Products" at 2 p.m. on Feb. 28. In addition, Luna will participate in the Nanotech Showcase, where a select group of members from key committees can meet nanotech businesses and see their products.
Luna Innovations is a member of the NanoBusiness Alliance Leadership Circle, whose members are stakeholders with a significant interest in joining the international nanotechnology policy and commercialization debate. Dr. Kent Murphy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Luna, is a member of the NanoBusiness Alliance Advisory Board and will be a speaker at the 2008 NanoBusiness Conference on May 4-6, in New York City, N.Y., where Luna Innovations will also be exhibiting.
