Luna Innovations Named Small Business of the Year

Roanoke, VA – Luna Innovations Incorporated was named the Overall Small Business of the Year by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce. This year’s annual Small Business Awards program, held at the Hotel Roanoke on October 2, had approximately 500 attendees and profiled the achievements of more than 100 nominated small businesses and small business advocates in 11 categories. Luna was awarded the Small Business of the Year Award in the Technology category, as well as the Overall Small Business of the Year for its growth and innovative business model.
"We are truly honored to be chosen to receive this award among the many outstanding companies in the region," said Scott Graeff, Luna's Chief Commercialization Officer. "A large part of our success can be attributed to the deep technical talent that can be found in the region and the attractiveness of the area to perspective employees."
Luna moved its headquarters to Roanoke in October 2006. The 220-person company presently has 55 employees based in Roanoke and 94 in its Blacksburg facility.
