Luna Expands Corporate Advisory Board
ROANOKE, VA, Dec. 10, 2008 - Luna Innovations Incorporated has added three members to its Corporate Advisory Board, which is made up of experts in various fields who are invited to participate and provide strategic counsel to assist in technology advancement.
Mark A. Frantz is focused on software and media investments for RedShift Ventures and currently serves on the Board of Directors at portfolio companies Intelliworks, Telarix and TerraGo. Frantz also serves on the Board of Directors at ODIN Technologies, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Commonwealth of Virginia's Research & Technology Advisory Council and the Business Alliance of George Mason University. Frantz was previously the Managing General Partner of In-Q-Tel, the strategic venture capital affiliate of the U.S. Intelligence Community, and formerly a partner with Carlyle Venture Partners.
John S. Parker, MD, FACS, FCCP, currently serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, and Technical Fellow for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). His major area of focus is Weapons of Mass Destruction defense, Cooperative Threat Reduction, Public Health, Biosurveillance and Military Healthcare.
Prior to joining SAIC in 2002, Parker served as Commanding General of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command at Ft. Detrick, Md., where he directed the U.S. Department of Defense global chemical and biological defense, infectious disease, telemedicine, trauma and biomedical research programs. He completed his military service as a Major General, Medical Corps, U.S. Army, and received his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School.
Jeff W. Rollins co-founded Market Grove Partners and RedE4 Capital Partners. Market Grove focuses on investing in and assisting small cap and early stage companies. RedE4 focuses on investing in undervalued Intellectual Property.
Rollins was also a Partner and Managing Director of C2 Partners, a private equity fund focused on small cap value companies. He previously held leadership positions in Brandywine Center Management, a firm that developed retail real estate, and Rollins Environmental Services, one of the nation’s leaders in Hazardous Waste Management.
Rollins is on the board of Dover Motorsports Inc., Dover Downs Gaming and Entertainment Inc. Fine Stationary Solutions OrphaGenix Inc. and SUNRx, Inc. He is also a Trustee of Holderness School, and is on the Board of Visitors at Duke University.
