Luna Danville

Luna Innovations' office in Danville, VA.
In late 2004, Luna Innovations successfully launched a public-private partnership to establish a one-of-a-kind nanotechnology facility. Luna nanoWorks, a division of Luna Innovations, is located in a late 19th century tobacco warehouse which has been transformed into a 24,000-square-foot, high-tech nanomaterial manufacturing and product development facility in Danville, Virginia. This project was brought to life through the collaborative efforts of federal, state and local governments, which included U.S. Senator John Warner, former Virginia Governor Mark Warner, U.S. Congressman Virgil Goode, the Virginia Tobacco Commission and the City of Danville.
Luna's nanotechnology experts have attracted the attention of many opinion leaders in the area of nanoscience and pharmaceuticals. The Luna nanoWorks facility is now considered to be a key manufacturing operation and application development center for carbon nanomaterials.

Luna Hampton

Luna Innovations' office in Hampton, VA.
The Luna Hampton office focuses on advanced diagnostic measurement and methods development. With core technologies licensed from NASA’s Langley Research Center, Luna Hampton develops instruments for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) using technologies such as ultrasonic sensing.
NDE enables difficult structural evaluations to be performed efficiently without damage or disassembly. Luna's products can be used in applications ranging from inspection of microelectronics to ship hulls and are of particular interest to companies in the aerospace, marine, medical, utility and electronic industries.
For the fabrication of electronic and mechanical components, Luna Hampton houses a machine shop equipped for precision miniature mechanical fabrication. The office has two ultrasonic immersion C-scan systems used for specialty nondestructive inspection work.
Luna Innovations acquired Nascent Technology Solutions in 2003 to establish this location.
